I love these products. The clay and powder together are the best hair styling products I have ever used (and I've used a lot).

The only flaw is the delivery system of the powder. The pump mechanism on the powder rarely works properly for me. Only about one in every five pumps seems to deliver any powder at all. I think they should try a different method of dispensing. Maybe a shaker method would be more reliable.

But even with that problem, still a five-star rating from me and I will continue to buy.

I got this kit because I was interested in the Jack Henry line of products. I also got the paste with this order, because, hey... you gotta give a brand a fair shot. And it was Black Friday, which made the team at JH pretty generous with their offer.

For reference, I'm lucky. I have a thick head of blonde hair, I spend money on a great stylist, and generally keep my routine simple due to the fact I direct ads, I spend a lot of time around stylists and people obsessed with their image. So, I'm not ignorant and have picked up a thing or two. I use organic shampoos, put a little Balmain hydrating conditioner and hair powder on that b*tch, sometimes a little clay or pomade and I'm off.

Let's start with the good: THE CLAY is great due to the ingredients. It doesn't have that much hold, and it makes hair a little greasy, but a good greasy; an "I don't care" greasy. It should because it conditions hair - you feel it. much better than most products that price. THE PASTE - much less hold. Still exploring possibilities, but the model in their video put it on as a refresher in the evening before playing chess with himself, so I guess it's worth a try. It has a nice shine to it, but if you have thick hair, not a lot of hold. WIN on both accounts.

The REFRESHER is good. It's a respectable sea salt spray and the effects are great. It conditions more than most sea salt sprays. I used it post shower as pre-styler and a refresher during the day. Overall, WIN.
The HAIR POWDER is hard to judge. I've used powders by Balmain and Davines - which were much stronger in their effect. The pump mechanism, though an interesting idea, is inconsistent and I haven't really noticed much of a different before and after using it. So... NEUTRAL.

The SHAMPOO. Ok... I opened the bottle and the smell was overwhelming. Kind of smells like those Adidas colognes that you get at Walgreens when you're 14 to impress the ladies at the winter formal. I put a quarter amount of this shampoo in my hair. Doesn't lather (not a problem, some shampoos don't lather). The it goes in my eyes and IT BURNS! I've never been maced in the face, but from the episodes of Jersey Shore I've watched, I gather this is what it feels like. It does make the hair look thicker and doesn't weigh it down, but JH, baby, you gotta do something about whatever made me lose my sight for a minute. And take it down a notch with the perfume. Grown men spend money on Tom Ford, Dolce and Gabbana, and Commes de Garcons to smell nice. Those good folks don't need any competition.

Overall, a respectable line of products. Your videos could be better. Send me an email. Just don't offer to pay me in shampoo.

The hair kit is all you really need. You can tell just how natural the shampoo is the first time you use it - no foam and smells great. I started using clay a year ago and I haven’t turned back. I was surprised the spray had as much hold as it did (not too much but enough to keep my hair up when I didn’t want to use clay). All in all I would recommend this kit to anyone.

The shampoo doesn't lather. It takes 2-3x more jack henry shampoo than even a cheap shampoo at the grocery store. The hair paste is like a rock and nearly impossible to apply.
